No, your eyes do not deceive you.
This is indeed a new blog post – 18 months after the last one.
A lot has changed in the past year; some of which I’ll probably talk about on here at some point, but one of the big things to happen was that I moved house – and my neighbours are now mostly sheep and cattle, rather than a busy urban environment.
Even though it has been a busy time, getting back to this blog has never been far from my mind and over the past few weeks, I’ve also had four different people, on separate occasions, ask about it and encourage me to keep writing… so I set some time aside this week and – in the sunshine – started jotting.
One of the first things you’ll read from other bloggers when you are starting out is to have a clear plan of action in mind and ensure you know exactly what you want your blog to be. Is it a platform to showcase your photography portfolio, for example; or will it be a travel blog? Perhaps fashion is more your thing, or you’re a bit of a foodie. Regardless of your interests, the general consensus among bloggers is stick to one topic and do it well.
Well… I’ve decided I’m not really going to do that. I’ll concede that writing is going to be the main theme here going forward, but after that it will be a pretty general mix of topics. It may not be for everyone; no-one may even read my posts, but it’ll be the things I want to write about.
I’ll sign off on this one for now, but for those who have made it this far down the page, thank you! You may also notice a few changes to the blog in coming weeks in terms of aesthetics and menu headings, while I also hope to introduce a mini series or two.
I hope you’ll continue to read and follow Jac Just Jots, and if you want to get in touch, just drop me a message below or find me on social media here.
Jac xx
Well, welcome back! The best way to stay consistent is to not put any pressure on yourself, and it seems like you’re picking the right approach. Wishing you a great time this time around, and keep writing!
